Train and Public Transport

If you’re coming by train to Cologne your best options will be Köln Messe/Deutz or Köln Hauptbahnhof.

From there you have several options to get to the venue:

The closest tram station is Kalk Kapelle. During evoke 2026, there will be construction work affecting the tram lines in this area. Line 9 will still serve Kalk Kapelle, running between Köln Messe/Deutz and Königsforst, but it will not cross the Rhine into the city centre.

For Line 1 replacement buses will be running instead. You can find details on the KVB website

An alternative is the S-Bahn station Köln Trimbornstraße

S12 and S19 both run via Köln Hauptbahnhof and Köln Messe/Deutz to Köln Trimbornstraße. From there, it’s about a 1.4 km walk, or you can walk to the nearby tram station Kalk Post and take Line 9 for one stop.

There is also Bus 171 from Köln Hauptbahnhof to Kalk Kapelle, but it only runs on weekdays in the morning and again in the afternoon / early evening. It might be useful for your arrival on Friday.

Side note for getting into the city centre during the party: You can use the replacement buses from Deutz, or change to tram lines 3 or 4, which will take you to Neumarkt for example.

Mobile & Apps

Tickets for trains and local transport can be bought via the DB Navigator App and several other options. The local transport association VRS has a mobile version of the timetable online. In addition they offer Apps for both iPhone and Android devices.

Long-Distance Bus

Long-distance buses can be a cheap way to get to Cologne, especially if you don’t mind a longer trip.

Most international and national buses, including FlixBus and other providers, arrive at the long-distance bus terminal at Cologne Bonn Airport, Terminal 2. From there, you can take the S-Bahn S19 to Köln Trimbornstraße. Some bus providers may also use different stops in and around Cologne.

Plane

The closest airport is Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN). From there, take the S19 and get off at Köln Trimbornstraße.

Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) is also a nearby option. From there, you can take a train to Köln Messe/Deutz and continue to the venue by S-Bahn, tram or bus.

For other airports such as Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) or Weeze (NRN), please check the available public transport connections to Cologne individually.
