Competition: Animation

  • This is the compo for all animations or videos showcasing your wild creations.
  • Usage of AI will not be tolerated, see general rules for more information.
  • Preferred video codecs: H.264, HEVC or VP9 (all profiles allowed).
  • Preferred audio codecs: PCM (really, use this), AAC, MP3 or Vorbis.
  • Remember that your entry will be shown on a huge screen and a big PA, so please prefer quality over disk space.
  • Preferred container formats: MOV, MP4 or MKV.
  • Preferred resolution is 1920x1080.
  • Preferred frame rates: 60 or 30fps.
  • We’ll try to play everything that’s not using these preferred settings as well as we can. As a rule of thumb: If your computer plays it back fine, it’ll probably be ok.
  • Maximum showing time: 8 minutes. The organizers reserve the right to fade out the entry at their own discretion (i.e long scrollers).

Competition: Freestyle Graphics

  • All tools and workflows permitted.
  • 16:9 aspect ratio is recommended.
  • For photos: We will preselect plain photos with no artistic effort - photo montages will be allowed.
  • AI usage not permitted (see general rules) - Exception: Light image manipulation features which do not add additional elements to your artwork (for example using the “generative expand” option in order to widen background in Photoshop or similar features).
  • Submit 6 (six) working steps of the creation process bundled as a .zip archive (together with the final image), they will be shown during the competition. DO NOT submit animated GIFs of your working stages. Entries without correctly submitted working steps will be disqualified.
  • Best Practice: Working stages should have the filename “title_step1.???”, “title_step2.???”, “title_step3.???” and “title_step4.???”, where ??? is the extension of the used format.
  • All pictures will be shown with the latest version of xnview.
  • Please hand in pictures with a flawless compression like PNG to ensure highest quality.

Competition: Pixel Graphics

You have to create an image which uses a limited palette.

  • No AI-generated or inspired graphics.
  • You have to create an image which uses a limited palette.
  • Use ONLY the colors of THIS palette.
  • You don’t have to use all colors, but please be sure your image contains only these colors. Images with additional or other colors will be disqualified!
  • You can choose the resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio is recommended.
  • GIF animation is allowed.
  • Maximum showtime per entry is 30 seconds.
  • Your entry must not have been released at another party or anywhere else previously.
  • The use of third-party content is not permitted.
  • Submit 6 (six) working stages of your entry. DO NOT submit animated GIFs of your working stages. Entries without correctly submitted working stages will be disqualified.
  • There will be a preselection, where e.g. badly converted content will be disqualified.

Competition: One Screen ANSI/ASCII (PC)

Remote entries allowed.

  • IMPORTANT: once again, this year’s textmode compos will only show one screen height / 25 lines!
  • Maximum width: 80 characters / Maximum length: 25 lines.
  • Will be shown with PabloDraw in normal and VGA mode.
  • iCE colours are not allowed.
  • Custom palettes are not allowed.
  • Ansimations are not allowed.
  • If there are not enough entries, we will merge this compo with the Amiga ANSI/ASCII compo.

The ANSI/ASCII compos are open to contributions of people who are not present at the party. Send your work using this form until 18th of August 2026.


Competition: One Screen ANSI/ASCII (Amiga)

Remote entries allowed.

  • IMPORTANT: once again, this year’s textmode compos will only show one screen height / 25 lines!
  • Maximum width: 80 characters / Maximum length: 25 lines.
  • PabloDraw’s built-in Topaz 2+ font will be used for displaying. If you want to choose a different Amiga font from the ones that are embedded into PabloDraw, please state so in the submission form.
  • iCE colours are not allowed.
  • Custom palettes are not allowed.
  • Ansimations are not allowed.
  • If there are not enough entries, we will merge this compo with the PC ANSI/ASCII compo.

The ANSI/ASCII compos are open to contributions of people who are not present at the party. Send your work using this form until 18th of August 2026.


Competition: 3D Scene

Remote entries allowed

Limitations:

  • No AI generated or inspired graphics entries.
  • Entry must be an un-animated 3D scene.
  • Maximum filesize of your upload archive is 50 megabyte
  • Maximum number of triangles is 100k (100,000).
  • Maximum texture resolution is 4k for each used texture (4096x4096 pixels).
  • Only use models you have created yourself.

Before You Submit Your Entry:

  • Please submit your entry in .FBX format
  • Make sure you have a license for all the textures you are using
  • Please add 4 (four) work in progress steps (jpg or png) of your entry clearly showing the progression of your model. Entries without working stages will be disqualified.

Technical Requirements:

  • We’ll present your models in the Foxotron viewer by gargaj and cce. Find the binary here and the documentation here.
  • Make sure you preview your entry in the Foxotron viewer to ensure that everything is displayed correctly.

The 3D Scene compo is open to contributions of people who are not present at the party. Send your work using this form until 18th of August 2026.


Competition: 4k Executable Graphics

Limitations:

  • The entry must be an executable program for the PC platform (Windows/Linux/Mac).
  • Maximum size is 4096 bytes for the executable, rules of other size-restricted executable competitions apply. All other files in the archive will be deleted before running the entry.
  • Maximum rendering time: 60 seconds (from starting the executable to the final image being displayed), we will run the entry twice to populate the shader cache in the first run.
  • The entry is defined by the result of taking a screenshot after the maximum rendering time.
  • We run the entries and make screenshots before the compo in order to be able to show more details of your work.

Requirements:

  • Entries must be delivered as an executable in a .ZIP file (or other archive), just as entries for the PC 4k intro competition.
  • Include a full-res PNG screenshot of the entry.
  • Preferably show a black screen and switch once rendering has completed (this does not pose a strict requirement if you need the space).
